How to Make a DIY Party Puff and Dessert Table Topiary with Deco Mesh?

When you are organizing any party, you generally spend a lot of time on decoration to make your party memorable for you and your loved ones. DIY party puffs and topiaries are outstanding décor items for your summer festivities that effortlessly add appearance to your decoration. They also help to make any gathering festive.

You will only need to choose the deco mesh that matches your color scheme or party theme. You can hang DIY puffs above your sweet summer birthday buffet. It is ideal to find a wholesale wedding and craft product supplier for buying ribbons, fabrics, chair covers, table runners, wreath forms in bulk, flower petals, favor bags, and many others at reasonable prices. Below, I’m going to share a step-by-step guide for making DIY party puffs and topiary.

  • DIY Deco Mesh Party Puff

Supplies You Will Need:

  • Mesh roll in metallic cream and gold color
  • 1 roll 21-inch poly mesh in metallic orange color
  • 1 roll 21-inch mesh in vertical line pink and light pink color
  • 1 roll deco mesh in metallic gold color
  • 1 package 3-inch wire balls
  • I package 24-gauge paddle floral wire
  • Scissors
  • Wire cutters

Instructions:

Step 1:

Begin by cutting 7-inch-wide strips of each color of mesh you would like to use. If you are using 21-inch mesh rolls then cut each strip in half. But when you are using rolls of 10-inch deco mesh, then you don’t need to cut the strips in half.

Cut 5 strips of each color mesh for getting begun and then cut more of each color as required. The exact number of strips you need will actually depend on the width of the strip as well as how tightly you curl them.

Step 2:

By using a wire cutter, cut strips of wire paddle about 3 to 4 inches in length. You will need one piece paddle wire for each strip of mesh you want to attach to your puff.

Step 3:

In this step, grab a mesh strip of any color and roll it into a loose curl and then pinch the curl in the center for creating a V-shape.

Step 4:

After completing the above steps successfully, now take a strip of paddle wire for attaching the curl to your wire ball.

Step 5:

Endure adding curls of each of your colors to the ball in the same way. Keep working the ball form from all edges with mesh curls up until it is full and fluffy, and the central wire ball form is no longer observable.

DIY Deco Mesh Poof Topiaries

Materials You Will Need:

  • 1 small/medium terracotta pot per topiary
  • 12-inch wooden dowel per topiary
  • Scissors
  • Matt knife or other knives
  • 1 roll crinkle sheer fabric: pink
  • 1/2 a dry floral foam brick per topiary

How to Make:

 Step 1:

Start by trimming down a floral from brick using a knife until it positions in your pot with the top just reaching the rim. After that, place the floral foam into the pot. You can trim down the side if it is too slack, or use scrap pieces of floral foam to shore up the sides of the brick that has too much jiggle room.

Step 2:

Now, insert a dowel into the center of your floral foam and make sure it is secure. If it starts to wobble, add a little bit of glue to keep it firmly in place.

Step 3:

After that, attach your poof to the top of the dowel through the ball form. Again, secure it using glue if necessary.

Step 4:

In this step, cut a small piece of pink crinkle sheer fabric and bunch it around the bottom of the dowel for covering the floral foam brick. Now, pleat in loose ends and fluff the fabric until it looks just right.

Party curl puffs and topiary are great for any season. You can hang your party puffs on a string from the trees for a festive garden party, hang a cluster of puffs indoor for lighting up a corner or create topiaries for framing a dessert table.
